Mount Vernon Triangle CID Launches New Website and Logo

Tuesday February 25, 2014

The Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District (MVT CID) has launched a new website and logo. The new website offers easy-to-navigate maps to locate restaurants and retailers as well as residential and office building developments. The website includes quick access to newsletter articles, events, and expanded information resources about our 17-block neighborhood in the East End of downtown DC. Simplified navigation and photo-rich content encourage visitors to explore one of Washington, DC’s most dynamic and growing communities and access useful resources, development and amenity maps and data. In conjunction with the launch of the website, the MVT CID has unveiled a new logo. The logo marks the 10th anniversary of the CID with a strong new graphic for the first time since the founding of the district. The logo, created through a mosaic of the initials “MVT”, reinforces the triangular nature of the community’s geography and street grid, while celebrating the liveliness and diversity of the Mount Vernon Triangle.

MVT CID President, Claire Schaefer Oleksiak, commented, “We are proud of the accomplishments of the past 10 years and excited about launching the new website and logo to take us forward. We are experiencing unprecedented development with 1.7 million square feet of office space and 3,689 residential units existing and under construction. The 40-plus MVT restaurant & retail offerings continue to grow with the recent additions of Alba Osteria & Silo and the announcement of Dacha 2.  Plus, the growth is being matched by organic neighborhood connections and community initiatives. Mount Vernon Triangle is benefitting from visionary planning, public and private sector investment, a rich neighborhood history and strong community-minded participation by our stakeholders.”

The MVT CID began work on the new branding and website last fall, after Claire Schaefer Oleksiak joined the MVT CID as President. The CID elicited feedback from the community regarding successes, remaining challenges, culture, history, opportunities and priority of needs. The feedback was obtained through direct interviews with stakeholders representing all sectors of the community as well as through an online survey that provided thoughtful and comprehensive feedback for the MVT CID.
